Medina County 4-H Horsewomen compete at District and State contests

Kait Johnson and horse WRAPPED AND READY displaying her 3rd place ribbon in Equitation Over Fences

The District 10 4-H Horse Show took place at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park in Dripping Springs, TX on June 16th and 17th. Medina County was represented by Kait Johnson and Allison Whitley. Kait competed in the Junior/Intermediate age category on her horse WRAPPED AND READY. They earned 4th in Showmanship at Halter, 4th Hunter Showmanship, 3rd Hunter Under Saddle, 4th Hunt Seat Equitation and 3rd Hunt Seat Versatility.
Allison competed in the Senior age category in the speed events on her horse SURELY IM A KIT KAT. They earned 7th in Poles, 5th in Barrels and 4th in Stakes.
Both ladies advanced to the Texas State 4-H Horse Show.
The 58th Annual Texas State 4-H Horse Show took place at the Brazos County Expo in Bryan, TX the week of July 24-30, 2021. Medina County was represented by Kait Johnson. Kait entered the Hunter Hack, Working Hunter, Equitation Over Fences and Open Jumping on her horse MY DANCE TIL MIDNIGHT. She also entered Hunter Showmanship, Hunter under Seat and Hunt Seat Equitation on her horse WRAPPED AND READY. Kait earned 9th place in Hunter Hack, 9th place in Working Hunter, 3rd place in Equitation Over Fences, 6th place finalist in Open Jumping, 9th place in Hunter Showmanship and 10th place in Hunt Seat Equitation.
Congratulations to Allison and Kait and a big thank you to parents and Coach Jen Johnson and former 4-Her Shelby Simpson for all your support. Allison and Kait both belong to the Medina County 4-H Horse and Riding Club.
