Mary Elizabeth Harrison Weynand

Mary Elizabeth Harrison Weynand, of Wimberley, passed away on October 5, 2019 at the age of 90 years at her home. She was born February 8, 1929 in Houston, Texas to William Henry Harrison, Jr. and Lorena Groschke Harrison.
Mary retired from Randolph Brooks Air Force Base after over forty years of service as a civil servant. She was a member of the San Antonio Embroidery Guild. Mary was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her granddaughters. She sewed her niece’s wedding dress, including hand sewing all of the lace and beadwork. Her attention to detail whenever sewing, stitching or knitting, was immaculate and the finished product was always a masterpiece.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Renee Barrett of Selma; granddaughters, Jennifer Barrett and Ashley (Michael) Muehlendorf; spouse, Wayman Barrett; stepsons, Scott Barrett, Craig (Monica) Barrett; step-grandchildren, Paul (Katie) Barrett, Colton Barrett; step great-grandchildren, Michael Barrett and Gabriel Barrett; sister, Shirley Martinez; sister-in-law, Gladys Jones as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Henry Harrison III; and sister, Betty Nichols.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas, followed by a Graveside Service at 2:15 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Mary’s memory to Camp Capers Scholarship Fund at the Episcopal Diocese, 111 Torcido Drive, San Antonio, TX 78209 or to the charity of your choice.
