Maria Cruz Aguilera Cuellar, of Castroville, passed away on August 9, 2020 at the age of 92 years. She was born May 27, 1928 in Castroville, Texas to Sabino Aguilera and Maria Jesus Botello Aguilera.
Survivors include her sons, Jesse Cuellar of Hondo, Luis Cuellar of Castroville, Silverio Cuellar, Jr. of Castroville, Theodoro Cuellar of Castroville, Johnny “Joe” Cuellar of Hondo; daughters, Rose Mary Mascarro (Amos) of Castroville, Norverta Herrera (Frank) of Castroville and Enedina Gonzales of Castroville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria Luisa Caseras of San Antonio, Beatrice Aguilera of Castroville; brothers, Pablo Aguilera of Castroville and Cruz Aguilera of Castroville.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Sabino and Maria Aguilera; husband, Silverio Cuellar, Sr.; son, Timotello Cuellar, Sr.; daughter, Maria “Gloria” Burell; daughter-in-law, Antonia Cuellar; brothers, Domingo Aguilera, Feliciano “Channo” Aguilera and sisters, Concha Aguilera and Hilda Benitez.
Gathering for the Rosary and Mass began at 9:00 am on Friday, August 14, 2020 at St. Louis Catholic Church with The Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection starting at 10:00 am. Interment followed at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
Please Note; the number of people allowed in church is limited to 120 for the Mass of the Resurrection. Face coverings are required and social distancing shall be practiced.
