Lytle Police Report July 30-August 5


July 30
9:30 AM – Officer responded to 19600 Blk. of N. Prairie St. for a report of a suspicious person knocking on the resident’s door. Officer initiated a field contact, the resident verified that he works for her as a handyman.
10:30 AM – Officer responded to Laser Wash for a report of a two vehicle crash.
10:46 AM – Officers responded to 1700 Blk. of Naegelin Rd. to assist Atascosa Co. Deputy with an activated residential alarm.
3:15 PM – Officer responded to 15300 Blk. of Cottage St. for a report of an unknown person(s) unwrapped his water hose located in the front yard and extended it to the backyard. Incident occurred between noon and the time of the report.
3:50 PM – Officer responded to Hwy. 132 at IH 35 to remove debris off the roadway.
7:57 PM – Officer responded to 19700 Blk. of IH 35 Access Rd. for a report of a two vehicle crash.
9:00 PM – Officer responded to 19700 Blk. of Creek St. and conducted a follow up investigation on the previous vehicle crash.
July 31
12:57 AM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store for a report of two subjects refusing to leave. A 32-year-old male subject was arrested for Criminal Trespass.
4:42 AM – Officer responded to Best Western Plus for a report of a family disturbance. Upon officer’s arrival the male had already departed and the female was in the process of departing.
11:50 AM – Officer responded to Machinery Auctioneers for a report of a theft. An unknown person(s) forcibly entered the yard and stole a white 2009 Chevy Pickup 2500 with a trailer containing a Gravely Pro Turn Diesel Lawn Mower, 2 Stihl Weedeaters and a Stihl Back Pack Blower.
12:30 PM – Officer responded to US Post Office to talk to an officer in reference to an abandoned house. The complainant was referred to Bexar Co. due to jurisdiction.
1:45 PM – Officers responded to 14700 Blk. of Railroad St. for a report of an assault. An 18-year-old male subject was arrested for Assault Bodily Injury – Family Violence and transported to Atascosa Co. Jail. A 16 YO male juvenile was arrested for Assault Bodily Injury – Family Violence and transported to Atascosa Co. Juvenile Justice Center.
6:03 PM – Officer responded to Diamond S Building for a report of a burglary of a building. Complainant advised that information of the items taken were going to be brought in to the Police Station on 8/1/18.
7:05 PM – Officer responded to 19800 Blk. of Bruce St. and talked to complainant in reference to an unruly neighbor. Complainant believes neighbor is going into his house while he’s gone. Nothing was reported missing and there were no signs of forced entry.
7:24 PM – Officer responded to Whataburger for a two vehicle crash.
7:31 PM – Complainant called the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to unwanted phone calls from a male individual. Officer was advised that the male also shows up and calls complainant’s work from time to time.
8:32 PM – Officer responded to Hwy 132 S at Medina Co. Line or a report of a down tree. City of Lytle residents stopped and volunteered to help cut the tree and move it off of the roadway during the storm.
8:38 PM – Officer responded to S. Somerset St. at Mesquite St. for a report of a down tree blocking half the roadway. Lytle Public Works was contacted.
9:32 PM – Officers responded to 14400 Blk. of Railroad St. for a report of a mattress blocking the roadway and causing a traffic hazard. Officers removed the mattress off the roadway.
11:04 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 SB Rest Area to assist an 18 wheeler fire. Officer arrived and assisted with traffic control.
August 1
1:40 AM – While at HEB C-Store, officer observed 2 juveniles on bicycles at the store acting suspicious. Officer made contact with the juveniles who had left their home without permission. Officer discovered that one 11 YO juvenile stole a soda and beer salt. The items were returned to the HEB C-Store.
8:45 AM – Officer responded to Lake View Dr. at CR 6710 and initiated a field contact on a suspicious person. Everything was okay.
2:30 PM – Officer responded to Main St. at FM 2790 N for a welfare check on an elderly man standing at the corner. The daughter arrived shortly to pick him up after contact was made with the male.
2:40 PM – Complainant called the Police Station and requested information on Texas CHL Laws.
3:15 PM – Complainant called the Police Station and requested information on an ongoing investigation.
8:15 PM – Officer was dispatched to check all 4 gas stations in Lytle in search of a silver Honda Civic. Officer was advised the vehicle was located in San Antonio.
9:00 PM – Officer responded to Days Inn for a report of an unruly child. Officer calmed the child down and got him to leave with his parents voluntarily.
9:10 PM – Officer responded to McDonald St. at Main St. for a report of a hit & run. Officer was contacted by Bexar Co. advising they located the vehicle at the intersection of Old Pearsall Rd. at Greenwood Rd.
August 2
1:04 AM – While on patrol on CR 6710, Officer discovered an open door of a pick-up truck parked in a driveway. Officer made contact with the resident who inspected the vehicle but saw that nothing was missing. Resident stated his grandfather probably forgot to close the door.
10:25 PM – Officer conducted a follow up investigation on a case.
10:30 AM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store for a report of a theft of a vehicle, a 2005 Nissan Titan pick-up. Complainant left his vehicle running and unattended in a parking space. The vehicle was stolen by an unknown person, male Caucasian, who was riding a bicycle. The vehicle was later recovered in San Antonio.
11:05 AM – Officer conducted a follow up investigation on a case.
12:44 PM – Officer responded to Main St. at N. Prairie St. for a report of a two vehicle crash.
2:00 PM – Complainant talked to officer in reference to people inside his vehicle. Officer was concerned about the complaint’s mental state, therefore officer notified Adult Protective Services as this was not the first encounter with individual.
2:05 PM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store to unlock a vehicle.
2:40 PM – Officer responded to 19500 Blk. of McDonald St. for a report of debris blocking the roadway. The debris was removed from the roadway.
2:58 PM – Officer conducted a follow up investigation on a case.
4:25 PM – Officer responded to Bruce St. for a report of an open non-emergency line. Officer was not given the exact address from dispatch as they were not able to obtain one. Officer patrolled the street and was unable to locate.
August 3
12:40 AM – While on patrol, officer noticed the alarm sounding from El Bufalo Pawn. Officer checked the building and found no signs of criminal activity.
12:46 AM – Officer responded to Brown’s Tackle & Gun for a report of an alarm. Officer checked the building and found no signs of criminal activity.
1:06 AM – While on patrol on Harbor St. officer noticed a suspicious man in black walking down the street. Officer made contact with subject who stated he was getting ready to go for a job.
6:38 PM – Officer responded to US Post Office to assist Natalia PD with a structure fire at the Post Office. Officers arrived and assisted as needed.
11:21 PM – Traffic stop at Lytle-Somerset and Bruce St. resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old male subject for having an Active Warrant out of Frio Co. for an Original Charge of Assault – Family Member – Impeding Breath or Circulation. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail. Subject was also cited for a traffic violation.
August 4
6:04 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Crossings for a report of a civil matter.
9:50 AM – Officer was contacted by San Antonio PD in reference to the recovery of the Nissan Titan was stolen from HEB C-Store on 8/2/18. The owner was notified, four tires/rims were missing and the truck was stripped out.
10:52 AM – Officer located a problem with the gate code at the Park Place Subdivision.
11:05 AM – Officer responded to 14600 Blk. of Main St. for a report of a verbal disturbance between complainant and estranged common-law-wife. The other party departed prior to officer’s arrival. No offense occurred.
2:18 PM – Officers responded to McDonald’s for a report of possible counterfeit money. It turned out the money was not counterfeit.
2:45 PM – Suspicious Activity Officer responded to HEB Plus for a report of a shoplifter. HEB Plus management elected not to pursue a criminal complaint against the juvenile.
3:35 PM – Officer responded to Main St. at Benton St. and observed a box blocking the northbound lane creating a traffic hazard. The box was removed from the roadway.
7:45 PM – Officer responded to Lake View Dr. for a report a golf cart on the roadway. Officer talked to the driver and issued a verbal warning.
8:05 PM – Officer responded to Lytle City Hall P-Lot for a report of a possible disturbance between two adults doing a child exchange. Officer spoke with both adults who stated they were just yelling at their daughter for getting too close to Main St.
10:21 PM – Officer responded to 15300 Blk. of Main St. for a report of an open 911 cell phone call. Officer checked with the open business in the area but was unable to locate source of call.
August 5
2:58 AM – Officer responded to Lytle High School and found an unsecured door. Officer cleared the school and found no signs of criminal activity. Officer secured the building.
9:05 AM – Officer responded to 14800 Blk. of Bruce St. for a talk to an officer in regard to a dispute with a neighbor.
10:35 AM – Officer responded to John Lott Park P-Lot and talked to complainant in reference to a baggie with a leafy substance. Officer took custody of item.
11:40 AM – Officer responded to Park & Ride for a report of a truck tractor with a possible fuel leak. It turned out the gas cap was loose.
1:30 PM – Officer stopped by 15100 Blk. of Norvell St. and bought lemonade and visited with the two young boys selling the lemonade.
3:45 PM – Officer responded to Days Inn for a report of an unruly customer. The customer departed prior to officer’s arrival.
4:45 PM – Officer responded to 16000 Blk. of FM 463 and assisted Medina Co. with an activated alarm.
8:08 PM – Officer responded to Days Inn for a report of a verbal disturbance. Officer located suspect’s vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Suspects were identified and cited for three traffic violations, given a verbal trespass warning and released.
