Ludell “Mitzie” Julia Moehring Biediger, of Castroville, passed away on May 27, 2019 in Castroville at the age of 95 years. She was born February 27, 1924 in Dunlay, Texas, the only child of Wilfred Moehring and Clara Schneider Moehring.
Mitzie married Erwin Max Biediger on October 11, 1941 at St. Louis Catholic Church. They were blessed with three daughters and sixty-three years of marriage at the time of Erwin’s death on January 15, 2005.
While Mitzie was a busy wife, mother and homemaker, she was also a wonderful cook for the Medina Valley ISD at the Castroville Elementary School. She held that position for over twenty years.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and David Haby of Castroville, Vickie and Jerry Rihn of La Coste, Kim and Kevin Mulvany of Castroville; grandchildren, Cindy Keller (Stephen), Mark Haby (Leslie), Jeremy Burton (Christy), LeeAnn Burton Vela (Art), Bridgette Aelvoet Heath (David), Nathan Aelvoet, Brooke Mulvany and Blake Mulvany; step-grandchildren, Mary Dawn Whidden and Zachary Rihn; great-grandchildren, Hannah Haby, Connor Haby, Payton Keller, Jacob Diaz, Kinsley Vela, Wesley Heath, Hayley Heath, Raymond Heath and “one on the way”; step-great-grandchildren, Meaghan Gilliam, Kaelan Whidden, Kallie Whidden, Jalynn Keller and one step-great-great-grandson.
Mitzie was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Clara Moehring and her husband, Erwin M. Biediger.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery Garden Mausoleum.
