At about 1340 hours, officers responded to a residence regarding a civil dispute. A resident requested assistance in having a family member removed from the property. Authorities advised the homeowner that the situation is a civil matter and directed her to the Justice of the Peace Court for further assistance.

Officers responded to a theft report at a residence about 2242. A resident reported that several items valued at approximately $345 to $455 total—including a lawn mower, a machete, an axe, three shovels, and a garden hoe—were stolen from his front porch. The victim stated he has no suspects at this time, and police note the items were left in plain view.

Officers responded to a reported dog bite at a residence. A resident reported that his father was bitten by a pit bull and transported to a medical facility for treatment. Authorities were unable to obtain a description of the dog, and no witnesses to the incident were identified.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence about 1548 involving a couple arguing. One individual alleged a physical altercation occurred, though an independent witness disputed the claim, and responding officers observed no signs of physical injury. Both parties agreed to separate for the night and keep the peace.

Officers responded to a property damage complaint involving a vehicle driving onto a resident’s yard about 1925. A homeowner reported that a maroon pickup truck left the roadway and drove across his grass to avoid dog feces on the street. The driver admitted to driving onto the property, and the homeowner acknowledged issues regarding cleaning up after his dogs on the roadway. No further incidents were reported after police addressed the situation with both parties.

Police responded to an apartment for a 911 hang-up call reporting a physical argument and a crying baby about 1445. Upon arrival, officers contacted a distressed caller who stated his girlfriend had bitten and pulled his hair out while he was holding their newborn daughter.
Officers made contact with the female suspect, who smelled strongly of alcohol and admitted to being intoxicated. Police observed her slurred speech, swaying, and loss of balance. Due to concerns for the infant’s safety—as the heavily intoxicated woman stumbled against a door frame while carrying the child—an officer safely intervened and took hold of the baby.
The suspect admitted to biting the victim’s hair during a dispute over the child. The victim sustained visible scratches with visible blood marks and a bump to the head from the altercation.

Officers responded to assist EMS with a heavily intoxicated, semi-conscious man suffering from alcohol poisoning about 2234 who had fled from medical personnel.
The subject was located lying in bushes and displayed slurred speech, vomiting, and extreme intoxication.
While receiving medical attention, the man became aggressive and grabbed the wrists of EMS staff and the responding officer.
The officer briefly unholstered a Taser to gain the man’s compliance, after which he calmed down.
Due to continued aggression, the subject was placed in handcuffs for officer and medical safety, and taken into custody on an Emergency Detention.
He was transported to University Hospital for treatment. During a medical evaluation, a methamphetamine pipe was discovered in his pocket and subsequently destroyed by police.

An officer on patrol located an apparently abandoned white Nissan Sentra about 1708 parked on the shoulder of the Interstate 35 access road. With vehicle insurance unconfirmed and no driver present, a 48-hour impound notice was placed on the vehicle’s window.

Officers responded to a property damage accident at Natalia Elementary School about 1640 after an unoccupied pickup truck rolled down Kearny Street and crashed into a school fence. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle in motion with no driver, forcing one person to move out of the way. A maintenance worker managed to enter the truck and put it in park. The vehicle’s owner later arrived on scene, explaining that he had accidentally left the truck in drive while doing housework down the street.

An officer on patrol located a downed power line on the 2400 block of State Highway 132 about 1610. Emergency lights were activated to secure the area, and utility crews responded to cut the line and clear the hazard pending permanent repairs by the electric company.

An officer responded to a motorist assist call near the intersection of County Road 6712 and State Highway 132 about 1110 after a vehicle stalled off the roadway. The driver was provided a courtesy ride to her residence, and the vehicle was left to be addressed later.
