Local country music artist spotlight: Chuck Wimer

Chuck Wimer plays his hit song “Homerun” during the Lytle Little League Opening Ceremonies.

LYTLE,TX–He may not be a “hometown boy,” but this local country music artist and his family are proud to call Lytle home. Chuck Wimer grew up in Arizona, but after 13 years serving in the military he made his home in Lytle, Texas. On March 8, 2021 Chuck was pleasantly surprised to find his newest single “Homerun” in the number 1 spot on the Texas Internet Radio Chart, a huge milestone and by his own words, “unbelievable and humbling experience.”
“We love it here!” Wimer said. “We left San Antonio because he wanted to get away from the city. Found a good piece of land and settled here in Lytle. My wife, Jaimie is also my music manager. My son, Matthew, is in 5th grade at Lytle Elementary School. I also have two older daughters who are attending college now, Sofia is 22. Grace is 20.”
He served in the U.S. Army for 13 years, and now that two of his three children have graduated college and moved out on their own, Chuck has finally decided that he is ready to focus on his lifelong passion in country music. And what a decision it was.
His first single Take You Anywhere found its way to number 63 on the Texas Country Music Chart and number 4 on the Texas Internet Radio Chart. This success led to the opening of some doors with his live shows almost tripling. More good news followed when Homerun made it to number 32 on the TCMC.
You can find Chuck’s music on Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, YouTube, and anywhere you stream music. But if you want to lend a hand in keeping him up on the charts, call your favorite AM, FM, and internet radio stations and request Homerun!
