Lester Jetton was born in Junction, Tx, on March 10, 1928 and went to meet the Lord at the age of 93 on September 3, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Jetton and Louise Jetton Crane; his wife of 61 years, Virginia Grumbles Jetton; and grandson Heath Jetton of Kerrville.
He is survived by two sons, Gary and wife Margie of Kerrville and Barry and wife Brinda of Bigfoot; three granddaughters, Karen and husband Joe (Chico) Hines of Dilley, Laura and husband John Howard of Devine, and Charna and husband John Allen of Bigfoot; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; brother Tom and wife Nita Crane of Oklahoma; brother-in-law Clifon and wife Linda Grumbles of San Antonio; and nieces and nephews.
Lester was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ. He worked at Kelly Air Field for over 30 years. He was a Mason for 72 years, reaching 32nd degree. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had much compassion for children and was very philanthropic. He loved to tease and make people laugh. He was a memorable character to everyone he met.
Memorial service will be Friday, Sept. 17 at noon at the Church of Christ in Bigfoot, Tx, with food and fellowship following.
