Leroy George Sutherland was born March 8th, 1935 in Ingleside, Texas. He was called to his Heavenly Home on February 11, 2019 at the age of 83 blessed years.
Leroy is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Marlene Schroeter Sutherland of Devine, Texas where they have happily resided for the past 16 years.
It can truly be said of Leroy: “It is well with my soul.” Psalm 46:1-3
His cherished legacy of honor, humor, and selfless devotion to family and friends will always be remembered with the greatest joy, love and respect.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Lindsey Sutherland; son, Russell “Rusty” Sutherland; Granddaughter, Nicole Sutherland, and wife, Jo Harvey Sutherland, mother of their four sons.
His surviving sons: Michael “Mike” Sutherland and wife, Teresa of Channelview, Texas. Andrew “Andy” Sutherland and wife, Valerie of Fulton, Texas. Barry Sutherland of Portland, Texas. Together with his stepsons, Louis “Lou” Davis of Devine, Texas. John T. Davis and wife Pennie of Austin, Texas. Eric Neil Davis of Lulling, Texas.
Grandchildren: Kristina, Andrew and Beki; Step-Grandchildren: Rose, Jeanie, Joy, John, Joe, April and Austin; Great-Grandchildren: Morgan, Eva, Blair, and Clara Jeane; Step-Great-Grandchildren: Bayleigh, Beau, Everett, Abby, Clara Marie, Madison and Logan; Sisters: Joan and husband, Denver Murray of Manchester, Kentucky; and Charlotte Primm of Katy, Texas.
Leroy loved well, and was greatly loved.
A memorial service in Ingleside, Texas will follow at a later date.
