Competing in their first tournament of the season, the Lady Pirates brought home 4th place after a weekend of tough games. But before they headed to Natalia for the tournament, Lytle played in Uvalde in a rough season opener. Falling 24-14, 25-16, and 27-25, the Lady Pirates were able to focus on skills and figure out their weak spots. “Keep an eye out on these girls, they have great chemistry. This team has great chemistry and are working hard to make each other and the community proud,” said Coach Denise Cordero

In the Natalia Tournament, Lytle took down Knippa 25-18 and 25-18 in their first game and then beat Brooks Academy 25-22 and 25-9.

“We got to have a first look at what awaits us in district play with tournament play against Natalia. Although it wasn’t what we wanted, we are taking notes. Our Pirates lost to Natalia in 2 sets (25-13 and 25-18) placing us in the 2nd seed of Championship bracket at the Natalia tournament,” reported Coach Cordero. Scotello 1 ace, 3 assists, 3 digs. In the second day of the tournament, the Lady Pirates lost to Sabinal and moved to the Consolation bracket. Sabinal won 25-18 and 25-22. Lopez 2 kills, 1 dig. Martinez 2 digs. Sprenger 8 digs. In their final game against Dilley, the Lady Pirates fell 18-25 and 22-25 but brought home fourth in the tournament and are ready to work hard to win every future game.
