Lady Pirates look forward to District

Friday night against Holy Cross, the Lady Pirates’ record moved to 2-6. This was a big win as it was their last pre-district game. On August 24th they opened district against Marion.
“Our ladies are putting in a lot of hard work and staying focused on the goals they set at the beginning of the season. We play tough teams early to prepare us for district play. Although our record doesn’t reflect how well we’ve been playing, I believe we can never be too prepared. Keep an eye out for Senior #14 Chelsea Gonzalez, and Juniors #10 Fizz Hutton, #11 Rose Scotello, #7 Elysa Aleman, #1 Marissa Lopez and Freshman DS #3 Alyssa Sprenger who are going to setting the tone for Lytle volleyball for years to come,” said Head Volleyball Coach Denise Cordero.
The Lady Pirates won against Holy Cross 25-12, 25-18, and 25-10. “It was a great experience playing against a SA team. We had some amazing plays and the girls showed some great athleticism. Player of the game was #10 Cameron “Fizz” Hutton. Fizz had 13 digs, 2 aces, 3 kills, 3 assists, and 2 solo blocks,” reported Coach Cordero. The JV Lady Pirates also lost in two sets at 13-25 and 2-25.
Marissa Lopez 5 digs. Amelia Martinez 2 digs. Alyssa Sprenger 2 digs. Alyssa Montalvo 2 digs. Kaylee Diaz 3 digs, 2 kills. Elysa Aleman 4 digs, 1 kill, 3 assists.
