Lady Pirates back swinging

The Lytle softball is back swinging. After an impressive basketball season, the Lady Pirates are ready for a new challenge and under Coach Tammie Tilly, they have found one. The team is now 1-1 for the season after a loss to Hondo and a huge win over TMI.
The snow canceled a few games, but it did not set the Lady Pirates back too much. When they faced Hondo on February 23rd, the team “missed a few signals and four base running errors led to the loss,” said Coach Tilley. But it was not a bad first game to find out what they need to work on. They lost 2-4.
On February 25th, the Lady Pirates faced TMI-Episcopal Academy and earned a huge 21-2 win! “As a team we had 21 runs, 19 hits, 15 RBIS, 16 stolen bases, 8 strikeouts and 1 error. Pitcher Moriah Gomez faced 30 batters, 10 strikeouts and gave up 5 hits,” reported Coach Tilley.
District is fast approaching with just one pre-season game left. They will play at home against Poth on March 9th and then their first district game is in Natalia on Match 11th.
This year’s Varsity includes Abby Moreno, Clarissa Ramos, Emma Keith, Dylan Reyna, Elizabeth Sessom, Elysa Aleman, Kaylee Diaz, Moriah Gomez, Fizz Hutton, Natalie Pacheco, Campbele Aldridge, Isabella Muraira, and Calyssa Sevier.
