Lady Mustangs secure share of District title

The regular scheduled district slate ended last week for the Natalia Lady Mustangs. Natalia (18-6-2, 9-1) wrapped up 26-3A scheduled action with lop-sided wins versus struggling Cole and Brooks Academy with run rule victories.
“We came out, took care of business and did what we needed to secure our portion of the 26-3A Co-District Title,” Natalia Head Coach Travis Crowley said.

Natalia finished their season sweep against the Lady Cougars during an afternoon game on April 18th at Ft. Sam Houston. Natalia out-hit the home team Lady Cougars 16-0 en route to a 16-1 victory.
Daniella Garza picked up the win on the mound for the girls in blue pitching 3.0 innings. She pitched a no hitter walking 0 batters, striking out seven and giving up one unearned run which came following three defensive errors by Natalia.
The Lady Mustangs scored six runs in each of the first two innings for Natalia followed by four final runs in the third inning.

Brooks Academy
Natalia hosted Brooks Academy for Senior night last Friday, April 21st. A victory over the struggling Charter School would lock in a 26-3A Co-District title with Jourdanton and when the three-inning battle ended, that is just what Natalia would get.
“I was happy we ended things on a good note for our seniors and our squad,” Crowley said.
Garza was back on the mound for Natalia, as she pitched another no-hitter. She did walk two batters and accounted for six strike-outs while holding Brooks scoreless.
Natalia scored five runs in the 1st inning, three in the 2nd and eight in the 3rd en route to a 16-0 lop-sided victory.
