Lady Mustangs go 1-1 before break

The Lady Mustangs played in back to back games last week against George West and Uvalde. They went 1-1 and struggled with the lack of players on the bench. With only six on the varsity for the two games, the Lady Mustangs had to work hard and control their fouls.
Monday, we got our first win against a good George West team in overtime, and my first win as a head coach. With only six girls available to play Monday evening, they went out and gave their all to capture that win. I couldn’t be happier for them. They played great. We had a game plan to help us stay in the game with only one sub, and they executed it to perfection.

Tuesday’s game against Uvalde didn’t go quite as planned. We held our own for the first half, but our lack of bench caught up to us in the second half. The girls never gave up and worked hard until the final buzzer. They showed some real tenacity and played with a lot of heart. I’m extremely proud of these young ladies.
