Lady Mustangs double down on wins

Much improved over last season, the Lady Mustangs beat Cotulla and Poteet last week. With the district season more than half over, the Varsity team is 7-7 overall and 4-3 in district. They have five district games after they played Jourdanton last night. Their last home game is this Saturday against Poth at noon. The JV teams will play at 10:00 and 11:00 am.
Facing Cotulla on September 29th, the Lady Mustangs were ready to defend their home court. They won 25-17, 25-14, and 25-23 and never let Cotulla control the game. They did have a slower third set but made sure to win it and the match.

On Saturday against Poteet, it was a tougher fight against the Aggies. The first set was won 25-23 but then they dropped the second set 18-25. Unwilling to give into the Aggies offense, the Lady Mustangs buckled down and won the third set 28-26. The Aggies ran out of steam in the final set to fall 25-18.
