JV Warhorses steal game from Carrizo Springs

It was another great night of baseball for the JV Warhorses when they beat Carrizo Springs 11-3 on April 5th. They stole home 5 times in their 15 total stolen bases. Jacob Barron threw 24 strikes in 40 pitches and Robert Ramirez threw 17 strikes in 29 pitches.
Top of the first, 2 outs, Justin Contreras on third, Christina Gerlach on first, Jacob Barron at bat, Contreras stole home and Barron singled. Kannon Ramirez ground out after Gerlach stole home. Devine 2, Carrizo 0. Top of second, 1 out, Mason Burford doubles to center, then stole third before Darrin Lafferty singled to left and Burford scored. Brady Hackebeil singled. Lafferty stole home with Xsavior Martinez at bat. Martinez would walk. Contreras doubled to bring home Hackebeil and Martinez was caught trying to reach home. Devine 5, Carrizo 0.
Top of the third, 2 outs, with K. Ramirez on third Elia Ghisellini on second, Lafferty on first, K. Ramirez stole home and then Hackebeil walked to load the bases again. Martinez singled and Ghisellini scored. Contreras singled advancing all runners and bringing home Lafferty. Hackebeil stole home and then Gerlach singled to second and Martinez scored. Devine 10, Carrizo 3. Top of the fifth, Hackebeil on second, Martinez on first, and Contreras doubled and Hackebeil scored the last Warhorse run of the night. Devine 11, Carrizo 3.

The JV Warhorses are 4-0 in district and 13-3 overall. They will play at home Friday night against Crystal City, in Pearsall April 16th, in SA Wagner April 19th, and then in Hondo April 23rd.
