CC Winn
The JV Warhorses managed a better result in their second game of the day.
Winn scored a run on two singles and two passed balls in the top of the 1st inning, but Devine responded immediately. Seguin led off with a triple to center field, scoring on a groundout by Chad Lawson to tie the game.
Singles by Tristin Cruz, Brady Cardenas, and a groundout by Barron resulted in another run and a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning.
Winn seized the momentum back in the top of the 3rd inning, using three singles and two walks to cross the plate twice and take a 3-2 advantage.
Devine put the game away with an offensive outburst in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Seguin was picked off after leading with a single, but a walk by Lawson and singles by Tristin Kramer and Pompa loaded the bases with one out. Luke Ricord singled to center to drive in Lawson and Kramer, and Cardenas followed with a single of his own to knock in Pompa for a 5-2 lead. Pinch runner Riley Barton scored on a passed ball, Barron walked to load the bases again, and Seguin singled in Cruz for a 7-3 lead.
The JV Warhorses closed out the game in the next inning.

Carrizo Springs responded immediately, using a leadoff double and consecutive walks to tie the game in the top of the 2nd inning.
The JV Warhorses put up a crooked number in the bottom of the 2nd inning to take the lead for good. Gehrig Runyan drew a two-out walk, stole second to get into scoring position, and came in to score on a single by Jordan Degollado. Lawson struck out swinging, but thanks to heads up base running, was able to reach base safely on a dropped third strike that also allowed Degollado to score. Lawson then stole second and scored on Kramer’s hard single to shortstop to put Devine up 4-1.
Carrizo Springs got more runs in the top of the 4th inning thanks to a walk, a passed ball, and a single, before Devine closed out the game.
