The Natalia JV Mustangs (2-0-1) led the majority of their home contest last Thursday, but finished in a 22-22 tie with the visiting Jourdanton Indians. Natalia looks to get back on the winning track this Thursday, as they travel to Atascosa County Thursday to battle the Poteet Aggies in the Strawberry Capital.
“We played in a tough game versus a good Jourdanton ball club,” Natalia JV Coach Jeff Terry said.
Natalia was led offensively by Adrian Vasquez once again as he scored two touchdowns in the contest. Nate Banda was able to add one touchdown as well.
“Offensively, Vasquez played a major contribution thanks to the blocking up front from our great front line of young men,” Terry said. “Defensively, Jacob Navarro had a key interception which set the Mustangs up in great field position.”
Manuel Garcia also had an interception for the Natalia defense.
“We continue to improve and we are excited about our upcoming battle with Poteet this Thursday,” Terry said.
Natalia squares off with the Aggies at 5:30 p.m. at Aggie Stadium.
