JV Arabians take control from the beginning

Another great game was played by the JV Arabians on Tuesday, September 14th. Playing in Crystal City, the Arabians took control of the game from the first whistle to the last. Winning 25-8 and 25-5, the team is in a great position to start district this Friday.
“The girls did a great job of keeping their focus tonight and really limiting their errors. Sometimes in games like this teams can lose their focus because it’s not as quick and the ball doesn’t come over as much. We did a great job serving tonight and being aggressive on offense,” said Coach Leigh Anne McIver
Karsyn Brown 2 digs, 2 aces, 7 kills. Neenah Guerrero 1 dig, 1 ace. Kaylee Romano 1 dig, 8 aces. Kate Featherly 6 assists, 1 kill. Makayla Rivera 1 dig, 3 kills. Denise Contreras 4 kills. Kelsey Dishman 10 assists, 2 aces, 1 kill. Avery Mobley 3 kills. Maddie DuBose 1 ace, 2 kills.
Friday night in Fredericksburg, it was a tough game for the JV Arabians. “The girls played real hard in the 1st set. We made some great defensive plays, got some great blocks and hit the ball really well. In the second set things just didn’t go our way. The girls still played hard, but the ball just didn’t fall in our way. We had girls step up and play in some different positions in this game and I thought we did a good job of playing some positions we don’t normally play in game,” added Coach McIver. Devine lost 23-25 and 12-25
Brown 6 digs, 3 kills. Guerrero 6 digs. Romano 1 dig, 1 kill. Featherly 7 digs, 6 assists, 2 kills. Rivera 3 digs, 3 kills. Dishman 8 digs, 8 assists, 1 kill. Mobley 2 kills. DuBose 1 ace, 2 kills, 2 blocks.
District starts this Friday in Somerset with games starting at 5pm.
