JV Arabians end preseason with wins

After a long break and a canceled Bandera game, the JV Arabians competed in the Marion Softball tournament and won three of their five games in two days of play. Their two games against Seguin 1-10 and East Central 2-10 were rough but Devine turned it around and beat SA Cole 20-1. Day two was all wins from the Arabians with a 15-2 win over SA Cole and 6-3 win over Marion.
The JV Arabians turned their game around and worked hard for their wins.
Lindsey Herrera 3 walks, 5 singles. Serena Mecias 1 walk, 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple. Bailey Crown 3 walks. Dawn Morris 2 walks, 3 singles, 1 double, 1 triple. Mia Ramirez 4 walks, 1 double. Mckayla Perez 3 walks. Starlya Byrd 2 walks, 1 single. Selly Gutierrez 1 walk, 1 single. Cece Martinez 3 walks, 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple. Alex Pedroza 3 walks, 2 singles, 2 doubles. Dazzle Coronado 2 walks, 1 single, 3 doubles, 2 triples.
“Day one was a struggle for us as we started both losses very well but our level of play decreased as the game went on. Basic defensive errors and lack of solid hits added up in the losses. Fortunately the next three games we cleaned up our defense and struck solid hits together to get us a win. It was a good way to end the preseason and start District against Hondo on Tuesday,” stated Coach Megan Perez.
The JV Arabians played in Hondo last night in their first district game. They will play at home Tuesday against Carrizo Springs and then in Crystal City Friday night.
