On July 19, 2021, Juvencio G. Sanchez Sr. passed away at the age of 82. Juve, as everyone in the conjunto industry came to know him, was born in Natalia, Texas. He began his music career as a bajo sexto player as a young adult. His passion and success to the bajo sexto found him joining notable playtime with many key conjunto bands out of San Antonio. He would go on to have his own band, Juve Sanchez y Sus Amigos. His music will continue to live in the hearts of many. Along with a successful music career, he retired after 31 years of faithful Civil Service from Kelly Air Force Base Commissary Meat Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Angelita Sanchez; wife, Maria (Concha) Sanchez, son Jose Luis Sanchez, brothers Guillermo Sanchez Sr. and Joaquin Sanchez.
He is survived by his children Norma S. Lopez (San Antonio), Juvencio Sanchez Jr. (Natalia), Olga S. Monreal (Natalia), and David L. Sanchez (Austin). Brothers Roberto Sanchez (Lytle) and Pedro Sanchez (Natalia). 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren.
