Joyce Katherine Moretti, age 80, passed from this life, on January 20, 2022. She was born in San Antonio,Texas onFebruary13, 1941 to parents Albert and Virgie Kurth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Virgie Kurth; husband, Emanuel (Ray) Moretti; sisters, Margaret Meloni and Virginia Eardley; and beloved Aunt Sarah Kurth and Uncle Gideon Kurth.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Moretti and wife Laura, Mark Moretti and wife Gwen; five grandchildren, Ashley Rodriguez (Adam), Whitney Howell (Will), Sabrina Martinez (Sergio), Thomas Ray Moretti (Donna) and Kimberly Castillo (Isaac); five great-grandchildren, Ethan Castillo, Maddox Moretti, Brynlee Martinez, Lane Howell and Rowynn Martinez.
Joyce was raised in San Antonio, Texas, by her father’s sister and brother, after her mother passed when Joyce was only 3 months old, and her dad was working hard to take care of his three daughters. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She never met a stranger; she would make friends everywhere she would go. She was a very talented seamstress, making all the outfits for the mannequins, for the downtown Joske’s department store, uniforms for the Silver Spurs dancers, as well as the redcoats and clown suits for the Shriner’s. She was also an avid cat lover, gardener and a perfectionist, when it came to her crafts, such as beaded Christmas stockings and ceramic paintings.
Pall bears will be her grandsons, Thomas Moretti, Will Howell, Isaac Castillo and Sergio Martinez and nephews, David Meloni and Ron Meloni.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
Funeral service will be held Monday, February 14, 2022, at 11:00am at Hurley Funeral Home-Lytle, Chapel, 14822 N. Main, Lytle, Texas 78052.
The internment will follow at 1:00 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
