Joan Frances Duty Lorraine, age 70 of Devine, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born on August 16, 1950, in Abilene, Texas to parents, Cletus Daniel and Emma Maryann (Lirette) Duty.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cletus and Emma Duty; Stepmother, Donna Duty; brother, Paul (Debbie) Duty; Grandmother, Adeline Nelson; Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law, May (Rudy) Lorraine; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara (Norman) Woolsey.
Joan was a beloved teacher for 36 years with 25 years being in Devine ISD. She loved doing things for the church in any way possible and caring for others. Joan’s biggest passion was singing and teaching music. Her absolute favorite hobbies were traveling with her family and exploring different casinos across the country.
Joan is survived by her husband Bill Lorraine; sons, Nathan (Stacy) Lorraine, Neil (Savanah) Lorraine; daughters, Leah (Rowdy) Lorraine Akins, Vanessa Lorraine; grandchildren, Danielle Lorraine, Emma Lozada, Jeremiah Lorraine, Cheyenne Lorraine, Avery Akins, Ava Lorraine and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Devine Band Booster’s at Devine ISD. Rosary will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, 7:00 P.M. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Bigfoot, Texas. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 21, 2021, 12:00 P.M. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Bigfoot, Texas with services concluding at the Church.
