Jimmy Carrol Linehan

Jimmy Carrol Linehan of Natalia, TX was born June 24th, 1932 in Jack County, Texas. At the age of 84, he peacefully left this world surrounded by family and entered the pearly gates on March 4th, 2017.
He is preceded in death by parents Lucille and Edgar Burns and Joe Linehan, brother Bill Linehan and grandson-in-law Oscar Villarreal.
He is lovingly survived by his beautiful wife of 64 years, Della Marie; son, Joe “Doc” Linehan of Natalia, TX, Daughter and son-in-law Brenda (Linehan) and Mike Fernandez of Natalia, TX, Daughter and son-in-law Janice (Linehan) and Rick Gray of Corpus Christi, TX, Son and daughter-in-law Monty Linehan and Lisa of San Antonio, TX; Grandchildren, Daniel Linehan of Seattle, WA, Misti Villarreal of Natalia, TX, Stacie Socia of Whitehouse, TX, Nikki and Adam Batie of Troup, TX, Annie and Robby Thompson of Victoria, TX, Chestly and Stephanie Gobar of Victoria, TX, Kasie and Justin Morales of Portland, TX, Amber Carroll and Eric Prewett of Universal City, TX, Randy and Tava Carroll of Natalia, TX, Lindsey Fernandez and Kellen Nixon of Devine, TX, Taylor Linehan and Seth Silvey of San Antonio, TX; Sisters and Spouse, Wilda Ruth “Siggie” and Captn’ Jim Mathias and Clara Reese Stone; 24 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Natalia and Devine, a beloved husband, daddy, granddad, brother, uncle, neighbor, friend and city employee of over 25 years. If you met him, you weren’t a stranger. His kindness, warmth and generosity have been felt in the community all the way up until his passing. A devout servant to his God and Savior both at home and in worship at the Natalia Church of Christ; a serviceman in our nation’s Army; instrumental in the beginnings of many of the towns in Medina County with their water resource and treatment, as well as patrolling the streets as animal control, a former volunteer firefighter and city councilman; a recipient of the Texas Water Utilities Association Wintergarden chapter 30+ year honoree. He was proud of his family, his home, especially the garden and his town.
Service officiated by grandson, Chestly Gobar. Honorary Pallbearers are Ivan Chant, Aidan Villarreal and Roy Capps. Carrying pallbearers are Mike Fernandez, Rick Gray, Billy Chi, Frankie Reyes, Kellen Nixon and Robby Thompson.
Visitation was held Tuesday March 7, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home, 303 W. College Ave Devine, Texas.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday March 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Devine, Texas with interment to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Devine, Texas.
