It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Janice Louise Forester Balson, of Hondo, who passed away comfortably on Sept.29, 2018 at home in her family’s care at the age of 73 years. She was born July 11, 1945 in Richmond, VA. She was such a loving spirit and strong in her faith of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. She worked several years at Lackland AFB where she met her late husband John Balson. She also worked several years at Sammy’s Restaurant in Castroville.
Janice was preceded in death by her Parents, Edmund Beall Forester and Norma Louise Crooks Forester; son, Terry Hatcher; granddaughter, Hailey Holiday Hiett.
Janice is loved by many to include her children, Norman Beall Hatcher (Evelyn Barington-Hatcher) of Anchorage, AK, Norman Ernst III of Austin (Isabel Belliveau-Ernst-Bowie) of Dunlay, Rachael Farley Balson of Hondo; grandchildren, Katrina Barington-Hatcher, Tabitha Lynne Ernst, Amber Louise Ernst, Phenix Hiett, Abraham Balson and Lilly Forester; great-granddaughter, Aibhlinn Ernst-Murphey; brothers, Edmund W. (Lupe) Forester of Magnolia and Charles James (Karen) Forester of Converse as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will gather to celebrate her life with a private service on a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Janice’s memory to American Cancer Society.
