James Daniel “Jimbo” Clower

James Daniel “Jimbo” Clower, 79 years of age, of Castroville, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at his home. He was born on February 16, 1941 in Leakey, Texas to Leon and Inez (Horton) Clower.
After graduating from Leakey High School in 1959, he attended barber school in El Paso, Texas. While working at a barber shop, he met the love of his life, Carolyn Rae Barton, who was working at the beauty shop next door. They married on July 21, 1960 and had four children, Theresa Ann, Ronda Lynn, Christie Carol, and Rockney Dee.
Jimbo was known as a “Jack of all trades” and never came across a problem he could not solve. He was a barber, pharmacy design consultant, construction worker, full service gas station owner, oil company general manager, and area supervisor for a nationally owned apartment chain.
Jimbo was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Inez Clower; his daughter, Ronda Wiggins; grandson, Dominic Darby-Clower; great-granddaughter, Sunny Bort; and sister, Sally Berzinski.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Barton Clower of Castroville; children and their spouses, Theresa & Jerry Johnston of Castroville, Christie & Micquie Clower of Albuquerque, Rockney & Rita Clower of San Antonio; son-in-law, Sid Bort of Leakey; twelve grandchildren, William (Shane) & Amanda Machen, Miranda & Kevin Rohan, Jessica & Chance Hubbell, Michelle Wiggins, Megan Wiggins, Zulika Clower, Zoe Clower, Zasha Clower, Devin Darby-Clower, Haley Darby-Clower, Dee Bort and Vincent Bort; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Bill Schaefer; as well as eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Jimbo Clower on Saturday, February 29, 2020, starting at 11:00 am at the Braden Keller Community Center at St. Louis Catholic Church, 1410 Amelia St., Castroville, Texas 78009. Please join the family in celebrating Jimbo’s life.
