Jacqueline Maria Casanova Hays

Mrs. Jacqueline Marie Casanova Hays was born on March 12, 1927 in Saint GermainEnLaye, France. She entered eternal rest on April 7, 2018 at Blue Skies of Texas-West in San Antonio, TX at the age of 91 years.
Jacqueline, daughter of Pierre and Victorine Aubernon Casanova, met a handsome young American soldier by the name of Marcus David Hays, who was serving in the U.S. Army. He captured her heart, and on Dec. 4, 1954, they married in Paris, France. Jacqueline was a teacher at the International School and the University of Maryland in Portugal and St. Edward’s University in Austin. She served in the French Resistance in WW II. She volunteered 30 years for the Easter Seals. Jacqueline and Marcus were blessed with 63 years of marriage, 3 children and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jean Casanova.
Survivors include her loving husband, Marcus Hays; children, Marie Hamsik, Patrick Hays and Perrine “Perri” Hays; and granddaughter, Jennifer Hays.
Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, April 30, at 9:15 am at St. Louis Catholic Church, 1306 Angelo St, Castroville, TX. Internment at 11:15 am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
