Irene Besse of Devine and Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Devine at the age of 92. She was born May 2, 1926 in Victoria, Texas.
Irene and her husband Paul raised their five children in Corpus Christi, Texas. After her husband passed away, Irene moved to Devine in 1999, where she lived out the rest of her life. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing her recipes with everyone. To know her was to love her.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dunn Besse; her parents, Frank and Mary Krembing; four sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine Lenz; her children, Judy Besse (Greg Smith), Sharon Holt (Mickey Davis), Patricia Pewitz (Warren Pewitz), Joseph Besse, and Allan Besse (Ira Besse). She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
All funeral services were provided by Seaside Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was laid to rest on February 24, 2019, next to her beloved husband Paul.
