Harper Lee Jacoby

Harper Lee Jacoby, our beloved husband and father, passed away early in the morning on March 27, 2017 in a San Antonio hospital at the age of 70 years.
Harper was born August 14, 1946 in Kerrville, one of two sons born to Milton and Mary Corine Talley Jacoby.
In 1964, Harper graduated from Bandera High School. He spent six months in Army basic training and then served in the Texas National Guard for six years.
On March 2, 1966 he married his sweetheart, Peggy Louise Ricks at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Harper went to work at Southwest Research Institute in 1971 and worked there for many years. He then went to work for IHI Southwest Technologies, retiring in August 2004.
In 1971, he became a licensed private pilot. Harper loved to fly and owned many airplanes including his current airplane, a 1942 Piper Cub, which he especially loved.
Harper was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Milton Jacoby.
Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Ricks Jacoby of Castroville and his son, Jeffrey A. Jacoby of Mobile, Alabama and many friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2017 beginning at 1:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home followed by A Celebration of Harper’s Life at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Harper’s memory to the charity of your choice.
