Guadalupe Barrientes Espino, of La Coste, passed away on June 13, 2019 at the age of 85 years. She was born December 12, 1933 in Burnet, Texas to Longino Barrientes and Evangelina Bermea Barrientes.
On April 12, 1953, Guadalupe married Gilberto Espino at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with four children.
Survivors include her son, Raul L. “Chano” Espino of La Coste; daughter, Carmen Huron of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Linda Espino; grandchildren, Rebecca Espino, Sylvia Espino (Ron) Davis, Gilbert (Mercedes) Espino III, Yvette (Joey Gonzales) Garcia, Amanda Espino, Christina Espino, Laura Espino, Luis Espino and Luciano Espino; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; siblings, Angelita (Joe) Sauceda, Anna (Mark) Martinez, Cecilia Rodriguez, Isidro (Clara) Barrientes and Frank (Alice) Barrientes.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilberto Espino, Sr.; sons, Luis Espino and Gilbert Espino, Jr.; grandson, Antonio “Tony” Espino; granddaughter, Cynthia Marie Garcia; great granddaughters, Desiree Marie Esquivel, Abigail Marie Esquivel and Isabella Davis; siblings, Gregorio Barrientes, Longino Barrientes, Jr., Roberto Barrientes and Maria Elena Barrientes.
Visitation was held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 starting at 4:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.
