Gloria M. Burell, passed away on October 10, 2019 at her home in Castroville, at the age of 69 years. She was born August 20, 1950 in Castroville, and was one of ten children of Silverio Cuellar, Sr. and Maria Cruz Cuellar.
Gloria was the mother of five children and worked as a personal care giver. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing Bingo, working on crossword puzzles, and visiting with family and friends. Gloria was a lifelong member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Leroy Burell of Austin, Tommy and Rhonda Burell of D’Hanis, Delane and Lawrence Hagdorn of Hondo, Kenneth and Amber Burell of Bonneville, Arkansas, and Tony Burell of Castroville; six grandchildren, Charli, Toni, Peyton, Olivia Rose, Kage Nathan and Keith Burell; mother, Maria Cruz Cuellar of Castroville; ex-husband, Gerald A. Burell of Castroville; brothers, Jesse Cuellar of Hondo, Luis Cuellar, Silverio Cuellar, Jr., Teodore Cuellar and Johnny Joe Cuellar all of Castroville; sisters and their spouses, Rose Mary and Amos Mascorro, Norverta and Frank Herrera and Enedina Gonzales all of Castroville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Silverio Cuellar, Sr. and her brother, Timotello Cuellar, Sr.
Visitation will be Monday, October 14, starting at 6:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Holy Rosary recited that evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.
Memorials may be made in Gloria’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul at St. Louis Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
