Georgia Mae Boehme Schott Mencio

Georgia Mae Boehme Schott Mencio, of Castroville, passed away on June17, 2020 at the age of 92 years. She was born December 30, 1927 in Castroville, Texas to George Otto Boehme and Annie Haby Boehme.
Georgia Mae graduated from St. Louis High School in 1945. On June 10, 1946, she married Clifton J. “Mitzie” Schott at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. They were married for twenty-five years at the time of his passing on January 17, 1972. On September 25, 1982, Georgia Mae married Sam Mencio in San Antonio. They enjoyed several years of marriage together before Sam passed away.
Georgia Mae was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society.
Survivors include her children, Karin Kowalik (Bruce) of Hurst, Texas, Terry Schott (Melinda) of San Antonio, Texas, David Schott of England, Thomas Schott of Bedford, Texas and Lou Ann Brown of Springtown, Texas; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Boehme of Rio Medina, Texas and Bobbie Schott of Loveland, Colorado.
Georgia Mae was preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Boehme; husbands, Clifton J. Schott and Sam Mencio; son-in-law, L.T. Brown; grandson, David Matt Brown; brother, Sydney “Jack” Boehme and Lynn (Helen) Boehme; in-laws, Richard (Marjorie) and (Margaret) Schott, Lindy and (Maxine) Schott, Joe L. Schott; father and mother-in-law, J.F. and Lucille Schott.
Public Visitation was Monday, June 22, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection was held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
Please Note; the number of people allowed in church is limited to 120 for the Mass of the Resurrection. Face coverings are required and social distancing shall be practiced.
Memorials may be made in Georgia Mae’s memory to St. Louis Catholic School or the charity of your choice.
