Friendship Art Club Show and Sale Sept. 28

As school begins and we begin to think about Fall, the Friendship Art Club begins plans for their annual Art Show and Sale. The show is Saturday, September 28, at the Lytle Community Center. A variety of booths contain oil paintings, water color, colored inks, acrylics, pastels, ceramics and jewelry. All items are original pieces.
The show also features a Student Art Exhibit; art work from area High Schools, Middle Schools and Junior High Schools will be displayed.
The art display opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 4:00 PM. Drawing winners and People’s Choice awards are announced beginning at 3:00. Art Show participants are welcome to enter selected art work in a judged competition. Winners receive ribbons and Best of Show. The People’s Choice Award adds to the fun. People’s Choice is selected by votes from the actual visitors and is announced at the end of the show.
The drawing includes over fifty items. Money raised from the drawing supports the club’s Scholarship Program. Thanks to our community, the club was able to present three scholarships to area students and recognize three more for outstanding work. A variety of items are available. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door.
Visitors can pause for lunch at Larry’s Food Truck, parked right outside the Community Center. Burgers, chips and drinks are available. Although all booths are currently taken, please call Jane Brown, Show Chairman, at 210-415-2546 if you are interested in exhibiting. A waiting list is now being formed, in the event of cancellations.
