Friendship Art Club meeting features program on perspective May 14

The Friendship Art Club will get a “perspective” on things at their next meeting, Tuesday, May 14. San Antonio artist and member, Sally Lewis will give a program on using perspective in drawing and painting. Ms. Lewis specializes in oil painting but also studies graphite drawing and water color.
The April the meeting included plans for the annual art show and sale in the fall. The show is held in the Lytle Community Center on September 28th. Applications for booths are currently available. All booths must be original art and may be two-dimensional work in various media or three-dimensional work such as pottery, metal or wood sculpture. No commercial items will be sold. Following the business meeting, area artist, Shirley Friesenhahn, presented a program demonstrating how to draw and shade various types of trees. Ms. Friesenhahn paints primarily in oils and water color but enjoys all media. She currently teaches a weekly drawing classes to club members and participates in many area art workshops.
Scholarship winners will be announced after the May 14th meeting and notified soon. Students who applied are exceptionally talented and well qualified. Thank you to art teachers and counselors for making such an outstanding group possible.
The Friendship Art Club meets every Tuesday morning at the Lytle Church of Christ. Members work on a variety of art projects, exchanging ideas and instruction. Business meetings are the second Tuesday of each month, followed by a program and a pot luck luncheon. Visitors are always welcome!
