Freshman Horses win a nail-biter

The Freshman Warhorses took it to the wire last Tuesday when they faced Uvalde. Winning by just 1 point, Coach Zach Valenzuela recapped the last moments of the game.
“Brayden Reyes passed to Carter Faubel who was posted up in the paint. Faubel then scored on his famous post hook shot with 20 seconds left to put us up by one.
Uvalde came down the court and got fouled. We were in the bonus so they shot a 1&1 free throw with about 8 seconds. Lucky they missed the first free throw and Matt Gomez came down with the rebound. I called timeout with 5 seconds left to draw up a play to milk the clock. It worked and Reyes was able to dribble out the clock.”
Now 10-6, the Freshman Warhorses are ready for district play. They will play in Somerset this Friday and then back at home to face YMLA on January 21st.
