Frances Carey Bippert, of Castroville, passed away on August 23, 2023 at the age of 64. She was born March 23, 1959 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Kenneth James Carey and Evelyn ‘Evie’ Drager Carey.
Frances graduated from Jefferson High School in 1977. She excelled in sports, mainly her favorite, volleyball, which carried her through her college years. She graduated from St. Mary’s University in 1981, receiving a BA of Arts degree. Frances received her Master’s in Educational Administration from Texas A&M Kingsville. Frances was a teacher and coach at Medina Valley ISD, Hondo ISD, and Lytle ISD. “Retiring” in 2012, she enjoyed being involved in children’s lives; not only her own children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but nieces and nephews, neighbors and members of the Castroville community. She volunteered the majority of her time, giving selflessly.
Frances and Bill found each other in Rio Medina and married on April 25, 1987 at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. They were blessed with thirty-four years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2021.
Survivors include her children, Bryan Bippert (Kristie), Amy Bohensky (Michael), Brandon Bippert (Makenzie), Clinton Bippert (Nikki), Brett Bippert, and Emily Bippert; grandchildren, Daisy Hoffman (Jacob), Bryan Bippert, Jr., Sadie Bippert, Sammy Lopez, Rebecca Lopez, Analyn Bohensky, Katelyn Bohensky, Emalyn Bohensky, and Brooks Bippert; great-grandchildren, Orion Hoffman and Chrysanthemum Hoffman; siblings, Kathryn Fearnley (Ken), Mary Heller (David), Collene Focht (Rick), Peter Carey (Geri Poss), Paul Carey (Joanne Pacelli), and Martha C. Bailey (Scott Nixon); numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Bippert; her grandsons, Jase, Keegan, Kellen, and Drew Bippert; and her brother, William Carey.
Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Services will conclude at the church.
Memorials may be made in Frances’ memory to the American Cancer Society, Zion Lutheran Church, or TAHERD.
