Local rural residents will be relieved that the FM 3176 bridge/overpass will be reopening very soon! Officials expect it to be open within 2 weeks, but maybe sooner if things go as planned.
Officials believe it was some sort of oversized load that struck the bridge over I-35 on the south side of Devine back on March 14. The bridge (which goes from Devine to Bigfoot) has been completely closed since that date due to severe damage making the bridge “structurally unsound.” At least 3 beams were damaged in the accident and traffic has been rerouted for close to 4 months.
