Family bonding in jail

The numbers show that we only handled 43 calls last week. That number seems low; we stayed busy with a variety of incidents and reports including several arrests.
Let’s start this ride with property crimes: A mini storage was burglarized on N. Somerset St. Numerous items were taken; two welders, an engine block, and some misc. tools. I would imagine our thief knew what was in there. Catalytic Converter Cutters struck twice this week. Two AutoZone work trucks fell victim as well as the Buddy’s Rental Center truck at the H.E.B. Plus. We don’t have any leads currently.
The final property crime was criminal mischief at the Lytle Nursing Home, an unknown person tampered with the generator. That is not cool, picking on a life-or-death piece of equipment at a nursing home.
We had a few arrests as well. #1: A traffic stop resulted in a cite and release for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. #2: A traffic stop on the IH-35 Access Rd. resulted in the arrest of a male for felony Trafficking of Persons. An undocumented 19-year-old female was hiding in a rear floorboard. The driver admitted picking her up from Del Rio and transporting her for a fee. She was detained and released to U.S. Border Patrol; he was booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail. #3: A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the male driver for having an active warrant out of Frio Co. Arrest #4: Officers responded to a disturbance on Mesquite St. a male suspect was arrested for Public Intoxication. Arrests #5 & #6: A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a father and his son. The father had drugs, the son had an assault warrant out of Bexar Co., and drugs as well.
So, both father and son were booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail.
I guess if I had to go to jail it would be better if my dad was with me. As a kid, he worked a lot, and we never spent much quality time together. On the other hand, if I went to jail, I would need someone to bail me out. My wife probably wouldn’t, I’m not sure about my mom. So, I guess I wouldn’t want to go to jail with my dad, I would need him to bail me out.
The Legacy Bowl has come and gone; those pesky Mustangs from Natalia came out on top again. Oh, the fun of high school football rivalries. I remember those rivalry games well, as a spectator. Some find it surprising that I never played high school sports. I guess my athletic appearance can be deceiving.
