Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Eugene Clyde Daylong, of Castroville, passed away August 1, 2018 in San Antonio at the age of 64 years. He was born May 11, 1954 in Midland, Texas, the oldest of five children born to Earnest Clyde Daylong and Bertha Leonia Allen Daylong.
In 1973, he graduated from South Houston High School. Before his retirement, he was a parts manager at Ingram Park Auto. On February 28, 1976 he married Mary Jane Garza at St. Louis Catholic Church. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage and two children.
Eugene was preceded in death by his father and his youngest brother, Stanford Wayne Daylong.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Daylong of Castroville; children, Michael Daylong and Ashley Daylong both of Castroville; mother, Bertha Daylong of College Station; siblings, Linda (Rick) Ravey of Bryan, Carl (Phyllis) Daylong of St. Hedwig, Earnie (Annie) Daylong of Bryan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was Monday, August 6, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service was Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
