Elbert Stanley Glines

Elbert Stanley Glines (U. S. Air Force, retired) passed away on May 16, 2017 at his home at the age of 78. Elbert was born January 30, 1939 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He was born to Stanley William and Wilma Edith Smothers Glines.
Elbert was a retired veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a communications officer. On November 1, 1968 he married Carolyn Ann Bennett in Davidson County, Tennessee. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage and seven children, 20 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Stanley and Wilma, he was preceded in death by his son, Billy Glines and his grandson, Salvador “Kyle” Ramirez.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Glines of Hondo; children, Linda Chandler of Hondo, Brenda (Robert) Quinn of Delaware, Pam Wright of Utah, Todd Cavnar of Utah, Dianne (Gerald) Curtis of Tennessee and Del (Linda) Adams of Houston; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; brothers, Darrell J. Glines, John Glines and Jack Glines; sisters, Caroline Salo, Bernice Frank and Lavonne Smiddy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home was open for visitation and gathering prior to the Memorial Service on Saturday, May 20, at 10:00 am. A Memorial Service with Military Honors began at 11:00 am at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Services concluded at the funeral home.
