Dwight W. “Alex” Alexander

Dwight W. “Alex” Alexander, of Castroville, passed away on July 10, 2019 at the age of 76 years. He was born January 12, 1943 in Dallas, Texas to Bemis Trevor Alexander and Yvonne Olga Burns Alexander. Alex was a lifelong resident of Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Alexander of Castroville; children, Lori (Eddie) Haby of Castroville and Benjamin Armond Alexander of Houston; grandchildren, Bryce Alexander Haby, Logan James Haby and Tanner Joseph Haby, Madison Alexander, Caleb Alexander and Elijah Alexander.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents.
He served in the US Air Force for over twenty years as an Air Traffic Controller with a tour in Vietnam. After retirement, he received a degree from Palo Alto in Horticulture Science. He became a roads and grounds supervisor at Air Force Village II, now known as Blue Skies of Texas West. Alex was a member of VFW Post 3966 in Devine.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Graveside Service with Military Honors will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 am at Shelter No. 1.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Alex’s memory to VFW Post 3966 or any veteran organization.
