DPS pursuit results in wreck in Lytle, suspects possibly at large

Today (Thursday Sept. 23, 2021) at approx. 1:45 PM State Troopers pursued a vehicle into Lytle on SH 132 (Main St.)  The vehicle lost control at Main St. and McDonald St. and hit an electrical pole in the Dollar General Parking.  The vehicle was occupied by possibly 7 people, 3 are possibly still at large. They were last seen headed north towards Bexar Co.  They all appeared to be undocumented immigrants, late teens to late 20’s.  They all were wearing dark clothing.  The collision wat terrible and electricity was knocked out and Main St. was shut down for over 1.5 hours. It took the Lytle Fire Dept. a lot of work (using rescue tools) to free the driver. He was airlifted to San Antonio. There were well over a dozen DPS units as well Medina Co. SO, Atascosa SO, La Coste PD, and Natalia PD.  Residents are urged to be on the lookout for suspicious persons and contact your local police.  Normally, these fleeing immigrants will try to get out of the area as soon as possible. The incident is being handled by the TX DPS and detailed questions should be directed to them. PLEASE SECURE YOUR VEHICLES, DON’T LEAVE THE KEYS IN THEM OR LEAVE THEM RUNNING WHILE UNATTENDED.
