Donna Rose Biediger Schorr,of San Antonio, lost her five-year battle with cancer on February 10, 2018 at her home at the age of 54 years. Donna was born November 7, 1963 to Donald and Rosalie Stein Biediger in San Antonio.
While in school at Medina Valley, she was involved in sports, excelling in basketball and track, eventually earning a scholarship to play basketball in college. She graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1982. Graduating from Texas Lutheran in 1987 with degrees in Management and Marketing, Donna joined the staff at Labatt before deciding to return to college and attend UTSA to pursue a lifelong dream of teaching and coaching. She spent her last 17 years at Medina Valley ISD where she was head of the English Department and was the yearbook advisor. Donna also coached both basketball and tennis before having to take an unexpected disability retirement in May 2017.
Donna was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Jeffrey.
Survivors include her mother of San Antonio; son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Emily Holzhaus Schorr of Castroville; daughter, Cassandra Schorr of San Antonio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gregory and Twissia Olsen Biediger, Ronald and Christine Baalson Biediger; niece, Stephanie Gloor; nephew, Michael Biediger and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. Louis Catholic Church,with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
