DMS wins UIL District Championship for 10th straight year


On December 8th the academic scholars of Devine Middle School competed in the District 29-AAAA Academic Meet in Carrizo Springs and brought home the championship title again.
DMS was able to continue its district championship-winning streak by extending it to 10 straight UIL Academic Sweepstakes wins. They did it in a big way too as you will see by the totals below. Devine had a 330 point lead by the end of the day over the number 2 team!
The following are the final point totals for the meet:
DEVINE MS: 889
HONDO MS: 559
CARRIZO SPRINGS MS: 550
PEARSALL MS: 506
CRYSTAL CITY MS: 353
“I am so proud of our students and sponsors for this great achievement, which took many early mornings, missed lunches and countless other hours to accomplish,” said Greg Geries, DMS UIL Academic Coordinator.
Individual results and photos will be printed in the December 26 or January 2 editions of The Devine News, as the awards ceremony and photos are scheduled for Friday, December 21.
