Diana Rendon

Diana Rendon

Diana Rendon left a lasting impression with everyone she met. Our special angel ascended into heaven on January 1, 2021 and left behind many family and friends that loved her. In her hometown of Pearsall, she was known as “Nana” and always had a hug and smile for everyone. Whether at a restaurant or grocery store, folks would go out their way to say hello and see how she was doing…which she absolutely loved.
A big part of her life was music, from watching shows like American Bandstand and The Johnny Canales Show, to listening to her cassettes on her Walkman (which she still did). She listened to all kinds of music including disco, pop, country, but her love was Tejano music. Wearing a Walkman and headphones was second nature, and we will all miss one of her favorite phrases…”I need batteries.” We are comforted in the memories we have of her dancing, singing, and enjoying life.
Although there were challenges, Nana never let anything get in her way. She spoke English and Spanish, recalled things from years past, participated in Special Olympics, and enjoyed traveling. She also lived in Devine and worked full-time at Tex-Spice for many years, which she said was hard work, but fun as she got to spend time with her friends, and the occasional bowling trips and outings. She did not even mind smelling like spices when she got home.
Diana is preceded in death by her parents Trinidad “Trine” and Alicia Rendon of Pearsall, brothers Oscar (Chavela) Cubriel and Eddie (Viola) Rendon, and sister Susie (Chevo) Santos. She is survived by sisters Linda (Joe) Ornelas, Gloria (Chuy) Gonzales, and brothers David Rendon, Bobby (Barbara) Rendon, Rick (Juanita) Rendon, and Tony (Nicky) Graham, several nieces and nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
She had an amazing spirit and will be deeply missed.
We love you Nana.
