Devine Police Report May 12-18

May 12
11:36 AM – Complainant in the 100 block of Howard observed a male subject in his 50s talking to a male subject in his 20s without a shirt and the older male appeared to be holding a gun. Unknown if BB gun or not. Officers were unable to locate. Made contact with subject on Howard Wallace, who had not seen or heard anything.
12:56 PM – Complainant reported a male subject sitting in a black Ford Focus behind a residence in the 400 block of S. Jamison Dr. The vehicle was located.
1:04 PM – After a vehicle chase through town, vehicle was stopped in the 500 block of N. Transportation Dr. The male driver had a warrant from Atascosa Co. for probation violation – larceny, a Medina Co. warrant for theft of property, and a suspended driver’s license. The subject was also in possession of approximately three grams of meth. The subject was jailed.
3:05 PM – Complainant reported the sounds of shots fired in the 700 block of Curtis Ave. Unable to locate; was possibly fireworks.
5:03 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation. A male passenger was arrested on three Medina Co. warrants and jailed. Another male passenger was in possession of a baggy containing drug residue. He was cited and released.
May 13
2:50 AM – Officer was conducting a traffic stop on NB IH-35 near mile marker 126 when the Devine PD Tahoe and the vehicle that had been stopped were both struck by a passing motorist. DPS investigated the crash.
6:11 AM – Complainant in the 800 block of Flores Dr. reported a disturbance involving her juvenile nephew. All was okay.
4:30 PM – Complainant in the 600 block of W. Coker Ave. reported two possible gunshots in the area. Unable to locate.
4:44 PM – Complainant reported that she left her purse by the vacuums at Savannah’s Car Wash for less than two minutes and it was taken. The purse contained the complainant’s driver’s license, Social Security card, and debit and credit cards.
6:30 PM – Complainant found a USAA Visa debit card on W. Hondo Ave.
May 14
5:49 AM – Complainant in the 500 block of Mesquite Ave. reported a male subject causing a disturbance and throwing beer bottles on the yard. The male subject then went back to his property and discharged a firearm two times while yelling obscenities. Dispatch heard shots while the complainant was on 911. The male subject was jailed.
3:00 PM – Officer was in pursuit of a vehicle. Another officer continued the pursuit and apprehended the male driver.
4:08 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on SB IH-35 near mile marker 123. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was cited and released.
7:43 PM – Complainant in the 500 block of Mesquite Ave. reported a verbal disturbance with residents.
9:07 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on SB IH-35 near mile marker 123. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was cited and released.
11:27 PM – Complainant in the 800 block of Libold Dr. reported a disturbance with his live-in girlfriend.
May 15
4:06 PM – Complainant reported a white 18-wheeler hauling lumber and losing some of it.
5:32 PM – Complainant reported she lost her keys at Dollar General.
May 16
11:18 AM – A K-9 search of a male subject’s vehicle resulted in the discovery of a handgun and 10.5 grams of meth. Charges pending.
2:24 PM – A male subject stole an item from the DHS science lab. The item was valued at less than $100.00. The subject was cited and released.
5:28 PM – Complainant reported a truck tractor driving recklessly on NB Hwy. 173 and CR 1343. No description given until the vehicle was halfway through town. Unable to locate.
7:20 PM – Complainant reported a male subject assaulting her and taking her vehicle, a 2006 Jeep. The vehicle was entered as stolen. Charges pending.
May 17
2:00 AM – Complainant reported a male and female arguing. Officer was dispatched to mile marker 124 inside the City limits. Officer located the vehicle just north of the City limits and held the scene until another unit arrived. All was okay.
9:32 AM – Officers accepted a donation of 11 fans for Project Breeze from the Devine Lions Club.
9:00 PM – Complainant at Walmart reported a female subject leaving with two items. The items were recovered, and the subject was cited by Walmart.
May 18
12:02 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of W. Coker Ave. The male driver was found to be in possession of an alcoholic beverage, drug paraphernalia, and less than one gram of meth. The subject was jailed. A female passenger was found to be in possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage and was cited and released.
1:05 PM – A female subject in the 700 block of Tuttle Dr. was served with three municipal warrants.
3:02 PM – A male subject in the Blackjacks was served with four municipal warrants.
8:24 PM – Officer assisted the Medina County Sheriff’s Office with a suspicious vehicle in the grass on CR 5710. A silver Corolla was unoccupied. All was okay.
