Della Elizabeth Ricord of Devine went to be with her lord and savior on April 2, 2019, at the age of 84.
She was born on September 27, 1934 to parents George Leslie Harris and Mamie Lou Harris. She graduated from Lytle High School in 1951.
She was a woman of strong faith in God. She spent her life instilling in her sons to love God, serve God and work hard with excellence as unto to the Lord. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Devine, as she raised her sons, she encouraged and cheered them in their every endeavor.
She married the love of her life, Eddie Ricord, in 1990 at Faith Baptist Church. As a member of Faith Baptist, she served in many ways, and was instrumental in the opening of their Christian school.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Opal Kirks, her husband, Eddie Ricord, and her son, William Howard Goslin.
She is survived by her son, Leslie F. Gosln (Linda) of San Antonio, daughter-in-law Joan Goslin Wengenroth (Carl) of Castroville, her brother George Harris of Lytle, three stepchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, four grandchildren: Stephanie Cobler (Nathan), Cody Goslin, Amy Hogan (Neil), Kyle Goslin and great-granddaughter Sedona Grace Cobler.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff at Westover Hills Rehabilitation and Health Care (San Antonio) for their loving care to Della throughout her stay there.
Visitation was held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel in Devine. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel in Devine with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
