Darrell Woods (Nuggie) DuBose, of Devine, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Devine, at the age of 90.
Nuggie was born March 23, 1928 in Black Creek, Texas to William Henry Harrison and Georgie Mae (Walls) DuBose, both who precede him, along with his daughter Deborah DuBose; brothers, Clyde DuBose, Roy DuBose, Marcus DuBose, Arthur Burl DuBose, and a sister, Roberta Brooks.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Bendele); sons, Darrell W. DuBose II (Tinker) and wife Debbie, David W. DuBose and wife Belinda, Don W. DuBose; daughters, Janice DuBose, Pamala Shoemake and husband Ron; sister, Vida Kempf, grandchildren, Ashley Coyle and husband Derek, Derek Shoemake, Jenny Keogh, Mindy Newman and husband Justin, David W. DuBose III, Samantha Barber and husband Coy, Ross R. Shoemake and wife Brandy, Darrell W. DuBose III (Skeeter), Kayla DuBose; great-grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, Derek J. (Tooter), Duke, Zoey, Taylor, Brayden, Kade and Logan.
Visitation was held Friday, June 8, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine, with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm.
Funeral mass was held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with interment following at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to the Devine Volunteer Fire Department.
