Darin Walter Mueller, of Castroville, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2017 in San Antonio, at the age of 51 years. He was born February 12, 1966 in Castroville, the youngest of three sons born to Henry “Skip” and Emma “Cookie” Mueller.
In 1983, he graduated from Medina Valley High School. He was a talented football player and was a kicker for the Medina Valley Panther football team. That position earned him the nickname “The Toe.” When it was time for the extra point kick after touchdowns, or for a “3 pointer,” the cheerleaders and fans would hold up “It’s Mueller Time” signs! Darin was a Panther fan favorite, especially when his extra point conversions made the difference between a win or loss.
Darin began an illustrious career with Billy Goat Industries in Kansas City. After moving back to Texas, he worked as a branch manager for a large wholesale plumbing company in San Antonio and excelled in his career.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Kim Mueller Senneff of San Antonio; daughter, Delany Mueller of New Braunfels; son, Mason Mueller of San Marcos; brothers and sister-in-law, Dean Mueller of Castroville, Rene and Sandy Mueller of San Antonio; nieces, Amanda Mueller, Taylor Mueller and Lauren Meader Fowlkes and her husband John; nephews, Luke Meader and Landon Groff and his wife Erin.
Visitation was Friday, September 15, 2017 starting at 5:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
