DA Haby sworn into new Medina County District Attorney office

Medina County District Attorney Mark Haby was sworn into office, as our County shifts to having it’s own district. Previously, our local district attorney served multiple counties, but due to population growth, we now have our own dedicated District Attorney.
“Today was an historic day,” said District Attorney Mark Haby in a message to Medina County voters. “My title officially changed from “38th Judicial District Attorney” to “Medina County Criminal District Attorney.”
“It has been a pleasure serving the residents of Medina, Uvalde and Real Counties as the 38th Judicial District Attorney. With the division of the district, the area I serve will be geographically smaller (solely Medina County), but the scope of duties will increase. As a Criminal District Attorney’s Office, we will be responsible for the prosecution of not only the felony caseload, but also the misdemeanor and juvenile caseload, as well as handling some civil work for Medina County. I thank you for your vote, and the opportunity to serve. I sincerely thank my family and my campaign treasurer, Becky Holzhaus; all of whom have been there for me since the early days, when I served in the position of Justice of the Peace since 2002. I look forward to the new duties which lie ahead, and I am fortunate to undertake them with a wonderful staff of consummate professionals!”
